And Oxford says yes!!!

I will not have a whole lot of time to post until the end of January, but I've got great news today. Oxford accepted me, which brings me to my Oxford vs. LBS dilemma. I've also started looking at financing my studies. Oxford is considerably cheaper than LBS, which may also make a difference in my decision.

I also have not have time to respond to the comments my readers left so far, but this will get done today as well.

I'll keep posting..

Congrats! It's always nice to have choices. I thought about the Oxford program, but ended up deciding against applying there personally. From what I gathered, the placement office is not as good as others, students there seemed to be very mixed in their reviews, and the program seemed to be more quant than I was looking for. While that may be a plus for some, I was looking on something that would target foundational quants while also focussing on the practical implementation. Since I'm not looking to get into academia, the LBS, LSE, and Cambridge MFin looked the most compelling.

Don't think you could go wrong either way, but I was much more impressed with LBS from what my due dilligence yielded.

As for finances, while there is a bit of a difference, I think in the long run the differences will become nominal. I think whichever program you are most interested in would be a better criterian than the difference in price.

Nonetheless, Congrats and good luck with your choice.

Congrats on getting accepted to LBS and Oxford. Any word yet from Princeton? I got accepted to LBS but did not send my application in time for Princeton's Dec 1st deadline. Good luck on your decision.

Thanks everyone for the comments. It's nice to know that someone out there is reading my blog. :)

I am inclined to go to LBS as well. I'm extremely short in time until Jan 23rd, but I'll email you after that date.

I've heard very good things about LSE and Cambridge as well, but Cambridge still hasnt started accepting applications for its new program, and LSE is more strong in social studies.

I havent heard from Princeton yet, I should hear from them in late February.

Wuishing you all the best!!

Congratulations, Agent Kermit! They are both great schools so you can't go wrong either way. Now, all you need to do is recover from your week-long cold, come back to US and make up your mind!

Which way are you leaning? LBS is probably your best bet.

beell,

I'm still not fully decided. I'm looking into the funding options these days. I'll post more about it in the next few weeks.

Hey agent kermit, would it be possible to share with me your experience with the oxford interview. I got an interview coming up with them and hope to know what sort of questions they will be asking. Thank you. My email is dundee84@gmail.com.
